Rohler BLT – Alee Denham Edition
idworx Rohler BLT – Alee Denham Edition
Built for the world. Proven by the journey.
Some bicycles are built for adventure. Others are shaped by the experience of what a bicycle really needs to deliver on a long journey.
The idworx Rohler BLT Alee Denham Edition combines both.
Alee Denham is one of the world’s most experienced and well-known bicycle travellers. For many years, he has explored the world by bicycle – travelling through more than 100 countries and across six continents. With CYCLINGABOUT, he has built one of the most comprehensive sources of information and inspiration for bikepacking, bicycle touring, and cycling technology. For Alee, it is not simply about beautiful images and extraordinary routes. It is about one fundamental question: Which technology really works when you need to rely on it for years and thousands of kilometres?
After nine years, six continents, and more than 100,000 kilometres on KOGA bicycles, Alee chose idworx as his partner for his next major adventure. His choice was the Rohler BLT – a bicycle designed precisely for the kind of journeys Alee has been undertaking for years.
A bicycle for the really big journey
The Rohler BLT is neither a conventional touring bike nor a gravel bike that merely looks ready to travel the world. It was developed for demanding bikepacking trips, expeditions, and long-distance journeys where reliability matters more than short-lived trends.
Its completely redesigned, triple-butted aluminium frame combines high stiffness and stability with low weight. Three bottle-cage mounting positions provide additional options for long stages and self-supported travel. The newly developed top tube increases frame stiffness, ensuring efficient power transfer and precise handling – even when the terrain gets rough.
At its heart is the Rohloff Speedhub. Its outstanding durability, 14 gears, and low maintenance requirements make it an ideal drivetrain for long-distance touring and expedition cycling. It is complemented by the idworx EBB Longlife II, whose high-load bearings are specifically designed for an exceptionally long service life and allow precise adjustment of chain tension.
The result is a bicycle that does not limit itself to one particular type of terrain. Asphalt, gravel, rough tracks, or remote trails – the Rohler BLT is designed to handle them all with confidence.
Alee Denham Edition
The Alee Denham Edition represents a special connection between experience and technology.
Over many years, Alee has tested countless bicycles, components, and pieces of equipment under real-world conditions. His journeys are not simply about getting from A to B. He deliberately seeks out remote regions, demanding routes, and terrain that other travellers might avoid. This uncompromising approach to cycling makes his requirements for a bicycle particularly high.
With the Rohler BLT, Alee has found the bicycle for his next major journey.
His current project, Arctic2Africa, takes him from the Arctic Circle through Europe and Africa to South Africa. This multi-year journey will cover many thousands of kilometres and take him through an enormous variety of landscapes – with the bicycle as his primary means of transport.
For a journey like this, you do not need a bicycle that simply looks perfect on paper.
You need a bicycle that works.
For people who want to keep riding
The Alee Denham Edition therefore stands for a very specific attitude: fewer compromises, more possibilities.
A lightweight yet exceptionally robust aluminium frame.
A durable Rohloff Speedhub.
A high-load idworx EBB Longlife II.
A geometry that provides confidence and control even away from paved roads.
And enough mounting options to equip the bicycle for long, self-supported journeys.
All of this comes together in a bicycle that was not designed simply to survive one great journey.
But many.
The idworx Rohler BLT Alee Denham Edition – developed for the world. Built for the journey. Ready for everything that lies ahead.

idworx Stress Reducer steering angle limiter
It effectively prevents the front wheel from turning and thus protects against damage to the frame, headlight or even the shift and brake cables, such as can occur due to a fall or the bicycle tipping over.
idworx EBB Long Life II
Eccentric bottom bracket with integrated, rustproof ball bearings. The only bottom bracket on the market with bearings that are actually sized to suit the load for an extremely long service life and optimal smooth running even under the highest loads. It also offers the option of installing our idworx Hesling chain case. Suitable for all idworx Rohloff models with eccentric bottom bracket for adjusting the chain play. Our idworx EBB-LL II is also compatible with Gates Carbon Drive belt drive.
idworx Long Life Chain Rings
The Long Life chain ring we developed at idworx made of hardened stainless steel with an uneven number of teeth together with the extra-hardened idworx KMC E1 ePT chain and the idworx Rohloff steel sprocket, makes for unprecedented longevity. In our oPinion models we even fit our Long Life chain ring back and front. Chain tension requires less frequent checks - a pleasing consequence of a more wear-resistant drive.
